The usual solution to failing schools is increased spending. But New York City already spends $30,772 per student each year – the most in the country – and still suffers from a drop in enrollment ((“N.Y. school spending: through the roof, with little to show for it,” New York Daily News, Nov. 26).
The truth is that more funding will make very little difference in parental satisfaction. That’s because parents want their children to get a sound education. They’re not getting it now because public schools are more concerned with race consciousness. Throwing more money at schools will only ensure that education continues to take a back set to indoctrination.
